Adam Levin’s comments were featured in a story about a cyber-kidnapping scam in Utah involving a Chinese exchange student in the Daily Mail, a UK-based newspaper.
The story highlights the dangers of deepfakes and fraudulent kidnapping scams where relatives are contacted by someone pretending to be in danger and in need of money.
“If someone rings and asks for money, the best tactic is always to hang up,” said Levin.
